Traditional Chinese and Five Elements Acupuncture

Traditional Acupuncture has been around for at least 2,000 years and was one of the original forms of medical care in the Far East.

Shaileja practices both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Acupuncture and also Five Element Acupuncture and aims to treat the root cause of your condition.

Treatment is usually with super fine disposable needles (don’t worry because we  are able to fit more than 10 acupuncture needles into one hyperdermic needle so you can see how fine they really are).  We also have non needle options available so do ask if you prefer.

Acupuncture FAQs

Pain, Fertility, Sports injuries, Anxiety, Stress, Arthritis are some of the conditions that people seek acupuncture treatment for. Some people choose to have acupuncture as a preventative measure and to improve general wellbeing whilst other complaints successfully and regularly seen in clinic include those shown by clicking the link to the left.

Acupuncture is a wholistic based treatment which means that when you arrive your practitioner will spend 60-90 minutes getting to know you, the condition that brings you to the clinic and anything else that is going on in your body, and in your environment. This helps us to piece together the root cause of your condition so that we then work to eliminate the problem from the root cause and not just temporarily band aid the symptoms. We will also look at various lifestyle factors which may need tweaking for you to live as healthily as possible and in a way that suits you.

Not at all, if you do not want to use needles than we have other modalities that can be used without puncturing the skin. Using the same diagnostic principles, we can also use various techniques including acupressure, guasha, cupping, auricular, tuina and Shonishin

Any age can have acupuncture, I have treated from 7 years old up to 85 years old. Even babies have acupuncture, some with and some without needles. We use super super fine needles for babies and children and also have special non needle applications too.

Wear loose comfortable clothing and also be prepared to remove items of clothing so that your practitioner can have access to the necessary areas for treatment.
